Creator Hound Privacy Policy

1. Our Commitment to Privacy

Creator Hound ("Creator Hound", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. Creator Hound is an AI-powered influencer search tool that lets you describe the creators you are looking for in plain English and returns ranked matches, with contact details, saved lists and CSV export.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website at https://www.creatorhound.ai and to any related applications, features, emails and services we provide (together, the "Services"), and to the people whose publicly available information appears in our search results.

By creating an account or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. Where the law requires your consent to our collection, use or disclosure of your personal information, we will ask for it, and you may withdraw it at any time as described in Section 11. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.

Creator Hound is based in Ontario, Canada, and we handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other privacy laws that apply to us.

2. Information We Collect From Users

We collect only the personal information we need to provide and improve the Services. We collect it in three ways: directly from you, automatically when you use the Services, and from third parties such as sign-in and payment providers.

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address and password (or, if you use a third-party sign-in, the basic profile details that provider shares with us). You may also give us your company name and job title.

Search and usage information. We collect the search queries you enter, the results you view, the creators you save to lists, the lists you name, the files you export, and the dates and times of these actions. We keep this so we can show your search history and saved lists and improve the quality of our results.

Payment and billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor collects your payment card details. We do not receive or store your full card number. We receive limited billing information, such as your name, billing address, subscription status, plan, and the last four digits and expiry date of your card.

Device and technical information. Like most websites, our servers automatically record your IP address (from which we may infer an approximate location), browser type, operating system, device identifiers, referring page, pages viewed and error logs.

Communications. If you email us or contact support, we keep your message, your contact details and our reply. We also keep records of the service and marketing emails we send you and whether you opened them.

Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 6.

You may choose not to provide certain information, but some or all of the Services may then be unavailable to you.

3. Information About Creators in Our Search Results

Our search results describe social media creators, mainly on Instagram. This section explains what we hold about those individuals, who may never have used Creator Hound.

What we collect. We collect and organize information that creators have chosen to make public or that is listed for business contact: their name, handle, profile description, location, niche or topics, follower counts, engagement figures, samples of public content, and a business contact email address where one is publicly listed or otherwise lawfully obtained.

Where it comes from. We obtain this information from publicly available sources, such as public social media profiles and websites, and from our service providers. We do not access private accounts or content, and we do not collect passwords or direct messages.

Why we use it. We use it only to power creator search, ranking, saved lists and exports for our customers who want to contact creators about professional, commercial and collaboration opportunities.

Your choices as a creator. If you are a creator and want to see, correct or remove the information we hold about you, or opt out of appearing in search results, email us at hello@creatorhound.ai from the email address associated with your profile. We will respond within 30 days and remove your information unless we are required by law to keep it.

Our customers' responsibilities. Our customers must use creator information, including email addresses, only for legitimate business outreach and in compliance with applicable laws, including Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), the CAN-SPAM Act and the GDPR, and must honour any opt-out request. We may suspend accounts that misuse creator data.

4. How We Use Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account, authenticate you and keep the Services secure.
  • To run your searches, rank and return creator results, and maintain your search history, saved lists and exports.
  • To process payments, manage free trials and subscriptions, and send receipts.
  • To respond to your questions and provide customer support.
  • To send service notices, such as security alerts, changes to our terms and billing messages.
  • To send product updates, tips and offers, where you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each message.
  • To monitor performance, diagnose problems, analyze how the Services are used, and develop and improve our features and search quality.
  • To detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms.
  • To comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent it to advertisers or data brokers.

5. Our Use of Artificial Intelligence

Creator Hound uses artificial intelligence to interpret your plain-English queries and to rank creators. To do this, we send your query text and relevant creator information to AI model providers acting on our behalf. We use providers under terms that limit them to processing the data to deliver the service to us, and that do not permit them to use it to train their own models.

Please do not enter sensitive personal information, such as health details, government identifiers or financial account numbers, into search queries. AI-generated results may be incomplete or inaccurate, so you should review them before relying on them. Ranking results are not used to make legal or similarly significant decisions about individuals.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, for two purposes:

  • Essential cookies keep you signed in, protect against fraud and make core features work. The Services cannot function without them.
  • Analytics cookies help us understand traffic and feature use so we can improve the Services. These may be set by us or by analytics providers.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but signing in and some features may stop working. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

7. How We Share Information

We share personal information only as described below.

Service providers. We use a small number of trusted companies to run the Services on our behalf, including providers of cloud hosting and databases, user authentication, payment processing, AI model processing, search and ranking, analytics, and email delivery. They receive only the information they need to perform their function and are required to protect it and not to use it for their own purposes.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that it is required by law, regulation, legal process or a governmental request, or is necessary to enforce our terms, prevent fraud or protect the rights, property or safety of Creator Hound, our users or others.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require the recipient to honour this Privacy Policy or notify you of any change.

With your direction. We share information when you ask us to, for example when you export a list to a file or another tool.

Aggregated data. We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

We do not sell personal information.

8. International Transfers

Creator Hound is operated from Canada. Our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries, whose privacy laws may differ from those in your home country. While your information is in another country, it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country. Where required by law, such as the GDPR, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this Privacy Policy, to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements, to resolve disputes and to enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it by law. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle. Aggregated or de-identified data may be kept indefinitely.

10. Security

We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit, access controls and the limiting of access to personnel and providers who need it. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • delete your information;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • receive a portable copy of your information; and
  • opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link.

To exercise these rights, email hello@creatorhound.ai. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within 30 days or the period required by law. Residents of Canada may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other regions may contact their local data protection authority if they believe we have not handled a request properly. Residents of California and other U.S. states with privacy laws have similar rights, and we do not discriminate against anyone for exercising them.

12. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for businesses and adults and are not directed to anyone under 16 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may link to third-party websites and services, including social media platforms. We do not control and are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies before using them.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If the changes are material, we will give you reasonable notice, for example by email or a notice in the Services, and obtain your consent where the law requires it. Your continued use of the Services after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
